About the artist
Roan is a storyboard artist from Pittsburgh, PA, currently sweating it out in LA's animation scene. With several years of experience in children's and adult cartoons for prominent US-based studios, such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and A24, they specialize in storyboard-driven shows with ensemble casts, musical sequences, creatures, and LGBTQA+ themes. In both their personal and professional work they strive for tangibility in their drawings and clear emotional arcs – aspects of animation that shine through when the tv volume's turned down. (A value they picked up in their formative years while sneaking out of bed to watch anime on school nights.)
Outside of animation, they enjoy making comics, playing rhythm games, crafting, stargazing, and hiking with their wife and magical fairy silken windhound.
Roan received their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Electronic and Time-based Media from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
